I had tons of fun at this photo session with this beautiful family. It was a chilly day but the kiddos and the family did great even with cold toes and fingers. We were lucky to get a dusting of snow that previous evening and I chose a location that was tucked away from the city and the wind. Sally and Devon are getting married in May 2013 and I have the pleasure of being their photographer! I was excited to meet them for the engagement session and get to know them. They are such a wonderful laid back couple who love to be outdoors and enjoy time with each other. Just being with them for a short time it was evident that they had a lot of love and respect for each other. We decided to do the engagement session at Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis, since he proposed to her while kayaking on the lake. I love seeing these girls for photos!!! They were one of the first clients I had for the start of my photography. I have been friends with their mom for many years now and we worked together for a a few years as well! Audrey just turned 3 and is in the same preschool as my little boy, Kaden so they get to hang out every week together and play too. We had to cancel our first session due to cold weather and lucked out the following weekend with a beautiful day. The girls had two different dresses and I loved both of them. Of course, the both girls love the camera and were full of smiles, expressions, love for each other, and even whispered secrets to each other. I have been waiting to photograph some girls in the Matilda Jane Clothing line and was super excited when her mommy said she had went to a trunk show..yippee!!!!!:) I had a hard time choosing favorite pictures since both girls have many expressions and I love the sweet moments and the big smiles. First of all I can not believe that Miss Elle is 1 already. Time goes so fast and I have enjoyed seeing her grow through pictures and being able to talk to her Mommy and Daddy to hear how much they love her. Elle had just had her birthday party the day before our session and ate her entire cake! She was ready for big smiles and we had beautiful weather for November in Minnesota. We started outdoors for some vintage style photos with an old sled, chair, barn, and lots of adorable smiles with her beautiful dress! One of the things I love as a photographer is as the children start to recognize you as the photographer as they grow up they will totally “ham” it up with big smiles when they see you! We did the second part of the session indoors at my home studio for some dressed up tutu pictures and OMGeeeee she was hilarious with beads, tutu, balloons! I am not sure if she had more fun or all of us laughing at her watching her figure it all out. Thanks for the opportunity to photograph such a beautiful family inside and outside.
